Cafeteria Throwback

Mark 2:18-3:6

June 26 | Sam Cassese

As a kid I used to do these picture puzzles in my Highlights magazines called Spot the Difference. These puzzles were a good gauge of my ability to perceive the details. Are you attentive to the details? Is it fairly difficult for you to identify differences? This week, Jesus is making some noise. He’s making some statements. And by the time he’s done, regardless of how attentive you are to the details, no matter how difficult it is for you to detect the differences, we will all see just how glaring the differences are between Him and the prevailing religious leaders of his day. This week we are going to Spot the Difference.

Cafeteria Throwback

Mark 2:13-17

June 19 | Sam Cassese

Ask any high schooler and they will tell you what the scariest place on the planet is... the cafeteria. This week Jesus confronts the tendencies that prevail in high school cafeterias and continue to weave their way into our lives long after we leave those hallowed halls.

We’ll see you this week for our Cafeteria Throwback.

Raise The Roof

Mark 2:1-12

June 12 | Sam Cassese

If Jesus showed up and said, “Name it and I’ll fix it,” what would you ask from Him? This week we meet a man who could answer that question in a nanosecond. As he comes face to face with the King of God’s Kingdom, he’s going to walk away with even more than he expected.

The Prayer. The Plan. The People.

Mark 1:35-45

June 5 | Ronnie Cannon

If you want to find out who a person really is, find out what they prioritize. And as we follow Jesus around for another day, as we see what He prioritizes, the answer to the question we have been asking, who is this Jesus, becomes a little bit clearer. And as disciples of Jesus we must ask this question of ourselves, what do we prioritize?

The Guest Speaker

Mark 1:21-34

May 29 | Sam Cassese

There are times in our lives when we’re reminded of the brokenness of our world. This past week has been one of those. The presence of darkness and evil taunt us. The dread of death and disease frighten us. We are like captives as we are confronted by painful reminders of our own mortality and of the world’s brokenness. This week we meet a Guest Speaker whose claims to have authority over both darkness and disease will be put to the test.

What Time Is It?

Mark 1:14-20

May 22 | Sam Cassese

What time is it? Everyone who has ever been in a team huddle or in a pre-game locker room knows that you don’t need a watch to answer that question. The correct answer is always, “Game time!” This is when the team realizes that the time has come. The moment they’ve been waiting for is finally here. The wait is over and now it’s time… This week Jesus tells us what time it is and he’s not wearing a watch. By the time he’s done, there will be no confusion or debate as we consider our moment in redemptive history in time and ask the question, “What time is it?”

A Day To Remember

Mark 1:9-13

May 15 | Sam Cassese

Most days are unmemorable, coming and going with nothing noteworthy taking place. And then there are days that you will never forget. There are moments of such significance that you will always remember where you were and how you heard the news. This week we will experience anything but “just another day.” The implications and consequences of this event will change the lives of everyone in attendance and completely alter the course of human history. This Sunday, we continue our series and brace ourselves for A Day to Remember.
